The Guardian’s asked a gaggle of writers and artists to “design money fit for modern times.” The note above is William Boyd’s: “It is designed for our new neo-Swiss, isolated, non-EU life. Deliberately ersatz, already grubby, the £ has been replaced by the more universal X.”
